Privacy Policy

Focusami ("we", "our", or "the app") is built around a simple principle: your data belongs to you. This policy explains what information Focusami handles and how it stays private.

1. Information We Collect

Short answer: nothing leaves your device.

Focusami stores the following data locally on your device using an on-device SQLite database and local key-value storage:

  • Focus sessions — start time, duration, completion status
  • Daily summaries — aggregated focus stats per day
  • Schedule presets — your configured time blocks and days
  • Blocked app selections — the app identifiers you choose to block
  • Preferences — theme choice, haptic settings, default timer duration

This data is never transmitted off your device. There are no servers, no cloud sync, and no analytics SDKs.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Account credentials (there are no accounts)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Crash reports (unless you explicitly opt in via the platform's built-in crash reporter)

3. Platform Permissions

iOS — Screen Time API

On iOS, Focusami uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls / ManagedSettings / DeviceActivity) to block selected apps during focus sessions. This requires your explicit authorization. Apple's framework is designed so that the specific apps you select are represented by opaque tokens — Focusami never sees the names or bundle identifiers of your installed apps. The blocking is enforced by the operating system.

Android — Usage Stats & Overlay

On Android, Focusami requests the PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS permission to detect when a blocked app is opened, and the SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW permission to display a blocking overlay. These permissions are granted by you through the system settings and can be revoked at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

Focusami does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. There are no ads, no analytics providers, and no social integrations. The app works entirely offline.

5. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored locally using:

  • SQLite — for sessions, presets, and statistics
  • MMKV — for active session state and user preferences

Data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, biometrics, encryption at rest). Focusami does not implement additional encryption because the data never leaves the device.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data exists only on your device for as long as the app is installed. To delete all Focusami data, simply uninstall the app. There is nothing to delete on our end because we never had it.

7. Children's Privacy

Focusami does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app collects no personal data and has no accounts, there is no COPPA-relevant data processing.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Because Focusami has no way to contact you (no accounts, no email), we encourage you to review this page periodically.
